I cannot believe the stories I hear about each and every year from Hunters saying "For Some Reason My Sites Were Off" .. "I shot 10 Times and For Some Reason I Couldn't Hit Him" ... I Saw Him At 100 Yards and Started Lobbing Slugs At Him".
Everyone that uses a Shotgun, Rifle or Pistol for Deer hunting Really needs to Practice Shooting .. As we have all been told over the years "Practice Makes Perfect" and this advice goes for anything you do.
For the past several years I have found dead Doe & Bucks that were "Gut Shot" and left to die a terrible death, This is an unnecessary act. It is however very Important to remember some Important rules regarding Ballistics & Distance.
ALWAYS use the same weight Bullet = When sighting your Rifle, Shotgun or Pistol .. Use the very same weight bullet you are going to be hunting with .. DO NOT buy cheaper lighter bullets to sight in your scope and then before season go and buy a heavier more expensive bullet to hunt with.
If you choose to sight your weapon in at 100 yards, DO NOT attempt a 150 yard shot .. Hunt Smart and always Hunt Safe.
Join a shooting range .. Practice!! .. I sight my Rifle in at 100 Yards and I visit my Range quite often constantly trying to better myself.
Take your time .. Remember, your First shot is generally going to be your BEST shot and if you've been Practicing .. It might be the only
shot you need.
Make sure you have a Good Clear Shot = I'm sure we all have heard the stories of near misses or even read the News Reports of Hunters getting shot by another Hunter while walking through the brush .. TAKE YOUR TIME .. Please be Careful out there .. Know what you are shooting at.
Just when you think you've gotten your weapon sighted in EXACTLY where you think it should be .... Practice Some-more
