Hello Everyone, I am Mark, I live in Union City, Indiana, my son and I are avid fishermen, we mostly chase after catfish but don't mind catching other fish especially one's we have never caught before. I own a 18 ft. Browning Mustang II Tri-haul run-a-bout boat but after a divorce a year ago has left me with no wheels, I moved away for about 7 months last year, though I was happy in White Plains, VA. I gave it all up just to stay close to my children, granted it was hard while I was there because I came to find out who I am in Christ, had a great church, was really involved with and of course was only 8 minutes away from a boat ramp access to Lake Gaston. I know my son wants to go there for vacation since he saw some of the cats I caught from the bank and I am sure if I had my boat there coming back would of been a lot harder there is just something about a huge lake. The only places I am close to here in Indiana is the Richmond Reservoir, Summit Lake, and a little further Brookville Lake. I had to restore my laptop so I will be gathering all my photos I have on other websites and start posting a few on here soon. I hope this cold weather will leave soon I sure would like to get out and get a line wet. I know, "Why don't you go ice fishing" 1. I don't have the gear for it and 2. I came close to falling through the ice when I was a kid in my Mom and Dad's pond years age we use to own a go-kart track called 550 Raceway. I am looking forward in sharing my two cents and learning as well as getting to know you all.

Welcome to the group Mark, divorce is such a terrible thing and I pray that God will comfort & keep you and your son in his loving arm's. According to MAPQUEST, your 112 miles from me ...
Not that that matters because I like to travel. however, in between us are a couple of really great fisheries, SALAMONIE Reservoir (2,855 acres) & MISSISSINEWA Reservoir (3,180 acres) each is loaded with some really great Catfish and of course other wonderful species. ...
I've been to Brookville Res. & Summit lake several times, great fishing. Shore line fishing is good but having a boat is really much better, I use to have a 22 ft Pontoon boat but 4 years ago my wife & I lost our 24 year old son to a 20 ton semi and it was devastating, I became very depressed and Gave my pontoon away, Jesus was there to comfort me and assure me everything would be OK .... Now I wish I had not given the Toon away. I just have a Kayak now and it's rather fun but I'm checking the net for another toon.
On OCT, 6th 2014 I totaled my 2007 Honda Silver Wing out and with the Insurance $$ I got another 2008 Honda Silver Wing, I strap my rod on my back and put my life jacket under my seat and take off to some really out-of-the-way places in search of White Bass, crappie, Small Mouth and Catfish.
Hope you enjoy the Group, and I'm looking forward to sharing some water with you.
SKIPPER. (martin)

Thank You SKIPPER, Yes God has my son and I in his Loving arms and I 'm sorry to hear about your loss. I didn't know about the lakes between us Thanks for that bit of info. I have a 18 ft. tri-haul boat that just sits, it runs but I don't have a truck to pull it, I would trade my work skills to work a truck off but you don't find many people that will do that. But our God knows our needs and will provide us when the time is right. Thank You for the welcome to the board, hope warm weather comes soon cause I am aching to get out and fish.
