HI everyone, Skipper here, Sam was a great guy and when it came to bringing people together he did some really fantastic things ... Camping trips in the Northern, Southern and Central parts of our State.
Inviting everyone and anyone who wanted to come, Visit and Introduce themselves to each other so we actually could put a face to the Username here on this site. Everybody I met during these campouts were really terrific People and we had some great fishing during the day and Awesome stories to tell around the camp fires at night.
I'm still in contact with some of those wonderful people I've met through this site and I've lost contact with others. I'm sure they are still out there and they are still looking to join up with other anglers, Just like I am.
I'm not planning any camping trips this early but its just a thought for the future. What I'd like to do is have all of our members "SHOUT-OUT" where they are located. That way if somebody wants to fish your area we can get an idea as where to go for a good fishing trip.
I'm NOT suggesting that anyone give away their best fishing holes but rather some information as to where decent fish can be caught and perhaps share some time fishing with a fellow member.
As most of you know, My name is Martin and I live in Cass County, Indiana. I wade fish the Tippecanoe River, Eel River (North), Wabash River and I kayak the Mississinewa River & Reservoir along with several small lakes in Fulton, Cass, Carroll & Pulaski Counties. I fish for White Bass, crappie, Catfish, Freshwater Drum, Bluegill, and Small Mouth Bass.

catfishdreams,
They did for the couple of years have Catfish tournaments along the banks of the rivers, No wading or boating aloud and the prizes were rather nice too. I will do some checking and find-out if the Cat Fishing Group is still active and what they have planed for this year and maybe I can do an article about them.
Welcome to the group, Are you North, South, East or West of Cass County ?

After a few years out west I'm moving back to Indiana at the end of this month. I'll be in Seymour.

Seymour, Wow, what a small world .. My wife is from North Vernon and we try to get down there as often as possible.
Seymour is called the "Crossroads of America" because the north/south and east/west railroads intersect in downtown.
The north/south line, the Jeffersonville, Madison and Indianapolis Railroad, was built in the 1840s connecting Indianapolis to the Ohio River at Jeffersonville. It ran through the Shields farm at the area that is now Seymour.
In 1852 when the east/west railroad, the Ohio and Mississippi Railroad, was going to be built, Capt. Meedy Shields, who was the cousin of General John Tipton persuaded the surveyor, John Seymour, into putting it through his land, in return for which he named the town Seymour. All trains had to stop at a crossroad, making Seymour a bustling community.
Seymour is the birthplace of singer John Mellencamp, former Indiana 9th District U.S. Representative Baron Hill, Texas lawyer Paul Eggers, Miss America 2009 Katie Stam, retired professional wrestler Rip Rogers, and Robert Shields whose personal diary earned him a place in the Guinness Book of World Records. Robert William Shields was a distant cousin of Seymour founder Meedy Shields.
As soon as the overtime stops at work and we get a full weekend, I'm going to ride my bike down and Visit another member (Kenny at Bob's Bait & Tackle) in Edinburgh, just North of Columbus, IN. (Knick name Justme)
East fork of the White River is over that-a-ways and is a great fishery and once you get settled, I'm sure you will find many more great places.
