Lately I've been out scouting deer trails for Rubs & Scrapes, I know it's Muzzleloader season but I have NOT been caring my muzzleloader with me. I'm off of work because I've broken my left wrist and my brother Kevin is working and if I shoot a deer I'd have to leave it in Coyote infested territory until somebody got off work to help me drag it out.
Never-the-less I do ramble on ..... While I'm out walking through the woods & meadows I do a lot of listening, I really enjoy listening to the birds, and squirrels and bigger things running through the woods. I can also here the traffic on the Highway a mile away .... However, I have been hearing something else that has been bothering me ..... We have neighbors (everyone does) for some reason or other they want a DOG!!
I really have no problem with dogs, I like dogs, I have two of my own ..... Gosh, how to explain ..... For some unknown reason these people must think that a dog requires absolutely no training what-so-ever and that "Their Dog" automatically fully understands the human language and knows exactly what their master is saying.
SO, I'm out walking "Quietly" through the woods when I here my neighbor "YELLING" very loudly at his new puppy-dog that gotten outside and is running free, The pup is having a blast and has NO idea why that guy is yelling or even what he's saying. The guy on the other-hand BELIEVES the puppy fully understands every word coming from his mouth AND that the puppy is deliberately ignoring him, SO the guy yells louder thinking that the puppy will better understand.
As silly as this sounds there is a very dark side to what happens next ...... the guy catches the puppy ..... and in his anger.... he beats the puppy ..... and the puppy has no idea why its being beat. ...... Now this puppy will look at this guy as someone who causes pain.
Not everyone who has pets, should have pets .... Over the years we have had Horses, Pigs, Goats, Rabbits, Chickens, Ducks & Geese, Dogs & Cats, Ferrets and even two White Rats. All of our animals were treated with the utmost respect and it does really bother me when I see people abusing an animal..... If they would just take the time to train their pet, love their pet and respect their pet. ..... It's almost like they are a GLUTTON for a HEADACHE, that will fallow them for the life of the puppy.
