The Feast of the Hunters' Moon is a re-creation of the annual fall gathering of the French and Native Americans which took place Fort Ouiatenon, a fur-trading outpost in the mid - 1700s. It is held annually in early autumn on the banks of the Wabash River, four miles southwest of West Lafayette, Indiana.
Thousands of participants re-enact this event creating a feast for your senses. Smell the wood smoke, hear the report of the rifles, savor authentic food and more.
Location: The Feast of the Hunters’ Moon is held on the grounds of Historic Fort Ouiatenon Park, a primitive country setting on South River Road, four miles southwest of West Lafayette Indiana. The grounds stretch across more than 30 acres along the banks of the Wabash River.
Handicapped Accessible: Authorized vehicles may use handicapped parking area located near the west entry gate. Handicapped accessible toilets are available. A handicapped accessible shuttle bus is available from the Purdue University parking lot. Please note that the terrain of the Feast grounds is uneven. Large print versions of the “schedule of events” are available.
Pets: Except for assistance animals, NO PETS are permitted on the festival grounds during open hours. Due to unavoidable circumstances, we are unable to provide a "Check-a-Pet" service at this year's Feast.
Parking: If you are coming from outside Lafayette, we recommend you use the free parking available at the Purdue University Lot L - M, north of Ross-Ade Stadium at the corner of Northwestern and Cherry Lane. You can follow the signs for the Purdue Ross-Ade Stadium.
Shuttle Buses run continuously from the Stadium to the Feast from 8 am to 6 pm (Saturday) / 5 pm (Sunday) Eastern Daylight Time (EDT).
Directions: Fort Ouiatenon is located at 3129 S. River Road, West Lafayette, IN 47906. If you are coming from the:
•North - Take I-65 to exit 178 and turn on the Indiana SR 43 south. At the intersection of Indiana SR 43 and Indiana SR 26, continue south on US 231 for approximately 1 mile. Turn right at the traffic signal on to South River Road. Proceed south for approximately 2 miles.
•East - Take I-65 to exit 172 and turn on to Indiana SR 26 west. Take Indiana SR 26 through Lafayette and across the Wabash River to the intersection with Indiana SR43 and US231. Turn left on US 231 south. Continue south on US 231 for approximately 1 mile. Turn right at the traffic signal on to South River Road. Proceed south for approximately 2 miles.
•South - Take US231 North across the Wabash River and turn left at the first traffic signal after crossing the river on to South River Road. Proceed south for approximately 2 miles.
•West - Take Indiana SR 26 to the intersection with Indiana SR 43 and US 231. Turn right on US 231 south. Continue south on US 231 for approximately 1 mile. Turn right at the traffic signal on to South River Road. Proceed south for approximately 2 miles.
