All summer long we were out pruning and timing paths & shooting areas in preparation for the 2013 deer season, tree stands we moved to view intersecting major trails, rubs & scrapes were found & tagged, Unfortunately nothing happened. Nothing at all, we did not see a single deer. Buck or doe, In fact we hardly ever heard a report from a rifle or shotgun.
Last year 2012, Cass County was but one of many counties that suffered from that deadly "BLUE TONG" that took the lives of thousands of deer. There are still a few deer still out there but it will take many years for the deer to rebound. I would like to see the INDNR place a deer hunting ban on the Counties affected.
I was invited to Plaski County by a friend, Where I saw over 100 deer in the first half hour and was able to take two of the doe (I'm not a buck hunter} the last week of slug season. I wanted to return to Plaski for the Muzzle Loading season but the weather turned bad and stayed bad. I am thankful for the two deer but then I wanted to get some Rabbits ... Well the weather was still bad and now season is over ..... Just been a disappointing Season
