On 11/16/08 when driving to work I came across a dead Bobcat on the side of the road. It was 2' 4" from the nose to the butt. I called DNR and reported it, gave them the location. It was about half way between Freedom and New Hope.

I found a dead OWL on the side of the road once and doing my civic duty I called the DNR and reported the finding ... for six (6) hours I was Grilled by the local sheriffs office and then by the DNR ... accusing me of killing the Owl.
When they were finished I told them that "NO Matter What" I would Never, ever report another dead animal again.

That's pretty bad that they did that. I don't think I'd report anything either after reading that.

That's terrible ! You go to the time and trouble to report it, and then they accuse you of killing it !! No wonder nobody wants to co-operate with them. That's a bunch of BS

better off to just take it home and eat it.. hahaha.. anyways, I lived in northern Monroe county not far from the state forestry and there had been a lot of sightings around there as well. I myself have never had a good sighting of a bobcat in Indiana.
