When we moved out here into the county some 31yrs ago the neighbors were fantastic, lovable and truly a blessing. When I lived in Logansport, I knew the guy next door and the guy across the street but that was about the extent of it. 30 yrs ago I knew every neighbor within a 5-mile radius of my house but things have changed and not for the better. The older neighbors have ether died or moved into town and so much of the land has changed hands with people "WHO" want to be left alone! The friendliness has almost diapered from this area because of "City Slickers" buying up the properties and they are afraid of everything and everyone. They will tell you ... I do not want to be your neighbor. Word has it that we are about to receive some new neighbors from the Monticello area, I have it on record that the young couple are very friendly and they have three fantastic children, the husband is a avid hunter and fisherman (we will get along very well) Cannot wait, looking forward to their arrival .... I just hope he fishes as well as Gill

This is something that I have been wanting to do for a couple of years now. I finally have a chance to do it and although it is not set in stone yet, the chances are pretty good.Martin just think, for your vcation next year you can come down and visit me and not go to Canada just think of all the slab crappies at reelfoot or the awesome stipers at old hickory lake, buddy the possibilities are endless

Catfish123 AKA Gill-getter AKA Mark !! I am sure you know I only wish you the best ! Making a move this big will have many challenges with the family and everyone starting over, so roll up your sleeves and get ready to do what you must to make it work for you guys. When you and that old has been fisherman that lives down that way start fishing every weekend give Martin and me a call ,we wouldn't mine being the third man in the boat with you and Bill Dance. GOOD LUCK BUDDY !!

Sorry about the last post, it caught me completely by surprise and I really didn't know how to react to the news. Now that I've had a chance to think about it, I can tell you absolutely nothing that will make sense. I know you hate working in the sub-zero weather and it is going to be warmer down there. I do want whatever you want for yourself and your family and I support you 1000%. Do I want you to leave ...No, but I know that is just me being selfish. Will I miss you .... Yes, But it's not like I can't come to visit for a week. There are so many things bouncing around in this big head of mine. I pray that God will watch over you, protect you and your family, Bless you in all that you do, and I know that you will do well. (sniff, sniff) OK, enough mushy stuff ... I'm going fishing

Dat molasses does go better on mush, and down home its cornbread. Corncakes is what they all eat up north From that bacon fat you sure can make a good red eye gravey, to sop up with whole cake bread made on the top of the stove with pleanty of wood for a hot fire, in a cast iron skilet. Yep ol gillgetter will be out before day break hunting grey squirrels for breakfast. Yep each mornin get the fire build before the kids get up to walk to school, hit the out house and cold as a mother-in-laws heart in winter, and full of spiders waiting to grab on all summer when ya sit down over the hole. I hear tell they have many places with eletric down there now, so maybe ya be able to find a place with electric after a couple years down there. And a warning Mark , if ya start running shine don't mean you will become a NASCAR driver, most just go to a chain gang on some work farm. Martin wonder how long it willm take him to lose all his teeth but one or two?? How does the wife and kids feel about starting to chew tobacee? Thats a must south of the Ohio river.
