I've been out scouting deer for about two weeks now, finding some very impressive rubs & scrapes. Doe seem to be fallowing each other creating some very easy to fallow paths while the bucks seem to be going through some of the thickest thickets I've ever seen, It has always amazed me how an animal with a large rack on its head can go through the thickest thickets it can find so effortlessly.
Never the less I always stay off to one side of the big boys trail, stepping over the scrapes and only getting close enough to examine the rubs. I'm always aware where my sent is in contrast to where the big boy leaves his sent, not wanting to cross the two.
I'm always reminding myself that there are about 100 other hunters in just my area watching and tracking, quite possibly the very same buck. That is why I am also tracking ans assessing the doe traffic, I have for many years had to settle for some really large doe because all my bucks were shot before I had a chance at them.
I'm a meat hunter, I know there are many people who say that but those very same hunters will let big doe pass them by in hopes for a buck. NOT me, I know that deer are not afraid of gun shots and I will take a big doe and if a buck comes by ... well that's an added treat.

Went out to place my seat cushions in my stands and made a wonderful discovery, their are 4 scrapes within spitting distance of my new stand and one a stones throw away from my old stand.
While I was placing the seat in my double stand I noticed a real nice big bodied 6 point hop the fence some 55 away, I watched him with my binoculars as he traveled away from me and then my neighbors cattle scared him back towards my new stand.
How awesome is that.
