Poachers Beware.
If you are out there, this site is not for you. This website does come down hard on poachers, and have no use for them. If your a poacher and caught, this website will delete your membership on this site permanently.
That's all I'm going to say about it. You have been warned, and I hope DNR does catch you !! 8l8
Indiana Conservation Officers remind sportsmen of the Turn In a Poacher Program (TIP)
You are sitting in your tree stand for the first time this hunting season, waiting for that big buck that you have been watching all summer to come along. Shortly before sunrise, you see a spotlight shining the field from a pickup truck on a county road near your location. You observe the truck stop and then hear loud shots from a firearm ring out through the darkness. A poacher has just illegally shot the deer that you have been waiting for. What can you do?
This is a common dilemma that many law abiding hunters encounter. A true sportsman should realize that he or she has an ethical responsibility to report this violation. It is not fair to the honest hunter that a poacher can get away with this illegal method of hunting.
Poaching is any illegal taking of fish, game or non-game wildlife. Poachers are thieves, and estimates indicate that poachers kill as much fish and game as legal hunters and fishermen do.
There is a joint effort of sportsmen and women, private citizens, and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources to help eliminate the illegal taking of Indiana’s fish and wildlife. This program is known as the Turn in a Poacher, or the TIP Program.
Under the TIP program, cash rewards are offered for information leading to the arrest of fish and wildlife law violators. A “smoking gun”, videotape, or signed confession is not required. Citizens who provide information are not required to give their names or testify in court. This information is investigated by Indiana Conservation Officers.
When you see or hear of poachers violating fish and wildlife laws, please call the toll-free TIP hotline. The facts that you provide to TIP can be the important piece that helps get a major fish and wildlife law breaker out of the field.
Become a deterrent to poaching and help protect Indiana’s wildlife by giving TIP a call at 1-800-TIP-IDNR (1-800-847-4367).
